Tonia, the author, guides us through the trials and tribulations of the modern-day dating world as seen and lived through her eyes as she holds tight to her values and traditional upbringing. You will surely laugh, cry, and relate to the reality of looking for love at any age! This book is well written , humorous, insightful and hopeful! This book is not only a great read, for single or married individuals, but it’s a journey the author takes you on from joy and laughter, to realism and sorrow.
The reader relates and understands this journey of being single, yet is challenged to identify their own standards. This book will inspire the reader to stay steadfast and unwavering in their convictions, while remaining uncompromising in their own self knowledge and self worth. One can identify with the author regarding painful or trying moments, laugh with her and cry with her, while receiving remarkable value by rediscovering the joy and fulfillment which comes from unconditional and universal love. It’s realistic and empowering, making the reader reflect and grow.

I absolutely LOVE this book!!! I could NOT put it down from the moment I purchased it at the book signing last week; Tonia DeCosimo reminds me of a real-life Carrie Bradshaw a la Long Island Italian version. Every tale in here either made me laugh, cry, reminisce, or reconnect with some part of my past. This book tells real life tales of Tonia's single days; once her failed engagement at age 23 broke apart. Like me, she has been in and out of relationships for over 20 years and I have long awaited the release of this book, especially her tips at the end of each chapter! Every single woman should read this book so she can 1) identify the types of "daters" out there 2) realize she is not the only one who has ever been in certain situations and ever felt hopeless and 3) makes you keep on believing that you will eventually find happiness!
This book is a must read for anyone out there in the dating world at any age !! There were many great dating tips given from both viewpoints for the men and for the women. The author also told many funny stories that I laughed so hard that I cried and also shared her not so funny experiences that we can all relate to and use and learn from. I am happy that I purchased this book and I would recommend it to a friend.
I highly recommend this memoir/self help book to any single woman who is still searching for love! DeCosimo's "old school" up bringing and her transition into today's world of dating really shows how times have changed. She is an example of someone who never gave up hope and proved why no one should ever settle!
It's not a how-to book, but "Single and Not Settling!" chronicles the author's relationships, warts and all. Through her eyes, we can all see some of ourselves. Well-written, funny and straightforward, this book can give some perspective to singles who are frustrated and struggling. Great work, Tonia!
